Manchester's Vintage Fair

Manchester is my new love - damn I have somewhere else I want to live!

Subcity under the railway arches just off Oxford Road held the ever present Judy Berger's Manchester Affordable Vintage Fair.

Tilley's Vintage had almond and lemon cupcakes, floral vintage plates, a sexy candle burning and a corner full of dresses.

Moira Sews Vintage

My beautiful friend Moira has started her own company hand making new clothes from Vintage patterns, specialising in 1950's circle skirts made to your own specifications and children's clothes including gorgeous kilts and a 1940's dungaree pattern.

Moira Sews Vintage and Tilley's Vintage will be showcasing what we do on Sunday 7th November between 5pm and 8pm - for all of you who have got over your hangovers and need to start that Christmas shopping, at VJ's Art Bar in York City Centre.

Moira's clothes are all handmade for you so are something to be treasured!

Do get in touch if you're interested at tilleysvintage@hotmail.co.uk and I'll pass your details on to Moira.

Much Love

Tilley xx

Beauty in all settings

This week I've been on a Silent retreat... off into the wilds of the Isle of Skye. I had the most beautiful, calming week and discovered a wonderful way to live. Me and my van kitted out in many layers of fur coats, natural rugs and duvets; a pile of books and as many layers of angora and cashmere as I could lay my hands on spent three days finding the most remote and quiet spots in the Outer Hebridies .... Me in my snood and the occasional piccie of my boots is the most fashion you're going to get here i'm afraid....

oh.. apart from the purple Noa Noa Boot Socks - Lush (I'm hanging round with too many Welshies)

The bed/ livingroom/ library with views like this out of the window..

I woke up to this view on the last morning, after driving there in the dark. Wowie

Shoes to get rained on in.

The heavens have opened on me. My hair has flattened, and my fur coat got a battering. So I am wondering what shoes will sort me out in the inbetweeny autumn months. My trusty brown heavy leather boots go wonderfully with the floaty skirts I plan to wear into the winter, however in this warm yet wet weather I had a sudden Audrey Hepburn lust... chanel pumps, wet feet, short trousers (or this evening a very short skirt!) and those damp ankles screaming 'I don't give a damn!' - get wet, if you're going to get damp you may as well go the whole hog!
